Nicolene Joubert Biokineticist

Supporting Health Through Movement

This practice is grounded in attentive listening and individualised care with a deep respect for each patient’s lived experience. Pain and recovery are understood as complex and influenced by more than the physical body alone. By looking beyond symptoms or diagnoses, care is shaped around the person as a whole, creating a space where patients feel seen, are supported and safely guided through their movement and recovery journey.

About Nicolene

BSc Human Movement Science & Physiology (NWU)
BSc Hons Biokinetics (UZ)
Certificate in Pain Management (TPA)

Nicolene is a registered biokineticist with a passion for movement, rehabilitation and helping people reclaim function and confidence in their bodies. She completed her undergraduate degree in Human Movement Science and Physiology in 2013, followed by an Honours degree in Biokinetics in 2014. She has since built a career grounded in evidence-based practice and compassionate care. She values truly listening to each patient, not just to their symptoms but to their story,  recognising that recovery, performance and pain are shaped by much more than the physical body alone.

Over the years, Nicolene has worked with international and provincial sporting teams and individuals across a variety of disciplines. As a former South African indoor netball player she has first hand experience in high-performance environments. She brings this perspective into her practice, understanding the physical and psychological demands of sport and recovery.

Her clinical interests are wide-ranging, including orthopaedic rehabilitation, chronic illness, cardio-respiratory and neuromuscular conditions. Nicolene has a special interest in chronic pain and nervous system regulation. She completed an additional certificate in pain management through the Train Pain Academy, which informs a holistic approach to supporting patients with persistent pain to improve function, movement confidence and quality of life.

Nicolene is committed to continuous learning and professional growth. She has participated in lecturing, stays up to date with the latest research and techniques and plans to further her studies. Having discovered her love for the profession through her own rehabilitation, she is driven to support patients in regaining function, improving health and enhancing everyday life.
